Update on COVID-19

NOTICE: We are temporarily suspending our extended hours from Monday-Thursday. Our hours will now be 8AM – 5PM Monday-Friday and 8AM – 2PM on Saturday.

We at Davidson Family Medicine hope that you are well and coping as best as possible. We are here to continue to serve all of your healthcare needs.

During this time, we are conducting TELEPHONE and Facetime visits. Please call us with any health-related concerns, and your provider will personally call you back usually within 24 hours, sooner if needed.

Many illnesses and even injuries can be handled over the phone: colds, allergies, sinus/ear infections, sore throat, urinary tract infections, diarrhea, and vomiting.

Many chronic conditions can be handled over the phone, such as Anxiety, Depression, Insomnia, Diabetes, High blood pressure, High cholesterol, stable Heart disease, stable Asthma, and many Neurologic disorders.

If it is time for your regularly scheduled visit or physical, please don’t delay. We can draw labs, sometimes at your car if you would like. We can then call you back to discuss the results, answer your questions, and make recommendations tailor made for you.

We encourage our youngest patients less than 2 years of age to come in for well child exams and necessary vaccines. We have an elaborate system to keep you and your little ones safe from any exposures. Please call us for details.

For children older than age 2 we are deferring well child checks for the foreseeable future.

Yes, we all have a lot on our minds, and stress is high. No doubt, you’ve been cooped up and possibly feel lonely and overwhelmed. You are not alone. It is completely natural to have some feelings of anxiety, fear, and loneliness. To combat these feelings, remember to eat healthy proteins, fruits and vegetables, get outdoors, exercise, interact with family, play games, laugh, and give yourself a break from electronic devices (especially the news!).

If you feel that you have a bit more than the “COVID blues”, please call our office to have an assessment. Things to be concerned about: changes in sleep, concentration, appetite, or if you are self-medicating with alcohol or other drugs. After your provider speaks with you and asks a few questions, we can point you in the right direction. This could involve just a change in some of your habits, or could include some counseling recommendations and possibly even medication for a period of time. All providers have extensive training in mental health which is just as important as physical health! We are here to help!
